Hambledon Cottage is a New South Wales State Heritage listed historic cottage built in 1824, home to Penelope Lucas, governess to Elizabeth and John Macarthur's daughters. An elegant Colonial Georgian cottage filled with authentic nineteenth century furniture and objects. Australian red cedar four poster bed in the bedroom. Sandstock bricks, hand-made by convicts, laid in English Bond style with mortar strengthened with burnt shells from aboriginal middens can be seen in the kitchen and in the garden are heritage-listed Oaks planted in 1817.
