Sunshine Reef is a wonderful dive site off Sunshine Beach, just south of Noosa on the Sunshine Coast. This rocky reef is deeper than other reefs in the Noosa area, so more suited to experienced divers, as depths vary from 25 metres to 33 metres. The rocky terrain at Sunshine Reef is cut with gutters and ledges and covered in soft corals, hard corals, gorgonians and black coral trees. Investigating the reef divers will find an abundance of pretty nudibranchs, which are a feature of the Sunshine Coast area. Also making a home on this reef are crayfish, moray eels, scorpionfish, lionfish and a wide variety of small reef fish. Larger residents include turtles, batfish, coral trout, gropers, trevally, sweetlips and sometimes schools of barracuda....
